Employees of the ANO "Hydrogen Technological Solutions" conducted a study on the impact of greenhouse gases on climate and the environmental effects of burning methane-hydrogen mixtures.
During the study, a review of literature on climate change and the effects of greenhouse gases was conducted. The impact of combustion of methane-hydrogen mixtures on harmful emissions was also investigated. To conduct the experimental research, an experimental setup was built using a Beretta CIAO GREEN 25 CSI condensing boiler. In the experiment, a mixture of hydrogen and natural gas with varying proportions of components was burned.
As a result, data on the composition of exhaust gases (oxygen, carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide) were obtained and the specific electrical conductivity and pH of the condensate were determined. Additionally, the co-combustion of hydrogen leads to a reduction in carbon and nitrogen oxide emissions into the environment.
For more information on the relationship between fuel gas composition and greenhouse gas emissions, the efficiency coefficient, specific greenhouse gas emissions and the course of the experiment can be found in the full text of the article.
